Religion vs Churchianity vs Christianity vs Christ.

Before I proceed with this article, let me just state this is MY BLOG and I am thus entitled to my beautiful opinions.

Here we go.........

If you just got saved, and decided to join a church, Thank God. It is the best decision you have ever made, but let me say this, if you have some preconceived notion that the things you left in the world, the hypocrisy, the gossiping, the fornication, the cliques, the THEM vs Us division, segregation, competitiveness, jealousy, hatred... if you think you left those things in the world and you won't find it in church....

Dear Brother and Sister in Christ,

This letter serves to inform you, that you are so so so wrong about the above misguided assumptions and ideologies about church folks. I therefore regret to inform you that before you become sorely disappointed and make a solemn vow never to attend another church again, that you must, I repeat you must, it is absolutely imperative that you derive at this conclusion,

THE SAME THING THAT IS HAPPENING IN THE WORLD, IS HAPPENING IN THE CHURCH.

Yours truly,

An Anointed Woman of God

Let us discuss religion briefly. Religion in its simpliest form is a belief in a God or Gods. It is a set of beliefs, practices, routines, steps, procedures and actions one follow to worship or revere their God or Gods.

In Christianity, there is The Godhead who is The Father (God) Son ( Jesus) and The Holy Ghost ( Holy Spirit).

The Holy Spirit who is our best friend helps, teaches and guides us into prayer to Jesus who intercedes on our behalf to God. Yes! Jesus is the Intercessor for The World!

Within the religion of Christianity every Body of Christ (Church) follows a set of rules and has a routine as to how they will organize their worship to God.

These rules can become so rigid and inflexible that The Holy Spirit gets quenched. He is therefore, not

able to move freely because the religious practices dictate that there is:

  • 15 mins of worship

  • 10 mins to collect offerring and sing a song

  • 30 mins for the word and then

  • 10 mins for the Altar Call.

It is so dogmatic and unbending that miracles, signs and wonders seize to happen in the church. Religion has customs, regulations and guidelines but where The Holy Spirit is, there is Liberty.

Please do not think I am saying there should be no structure or order as to how the proceedings should unfold in a church but too many churches today have allowed religion to overshadow and dampen the move of The HOLY GHOST.

When a newcomer/potential member comes into such a religious sect/organization, ideas are not welcomed!

So this is my conclusion.

Forget about following the religion of Christianity. Go to church to follow Jesus and let him lead you into worshipping and revering him without time constraints.

If you follow the religion of Christianity, you will expect Christians to behave morally upright, but unfortunately sometimes they are the most morally corrupt. If you follow The Religion of Christianity, you may inevitably begin to follow Christians who may disappoint you and who frankly can be terrible role models. Your expectations of them were so high that when they failed you, you lost hope in God.

But if you follow Jesus, no matter how "they" behave, as a Christian "they" will not disappoint you so completely that you are persuaded to UNfollow the one Who CANNOT DISAPPOINT!

Don't follow the religion of Christianity because a Pastor, Friend, Church Sister or Brother may do the most UNchristianlike thing.

Follow Jesus,

He's the only person

Who gets

Sweeter and sweeter

As the days go by....
